In Q3 2026 early Optimus production started in Fremont, in space freed by removing the Model S/X lines; Musk said reaching full capacity will take about a year, and external deliveries are reported for around end-2027.
Third-generation Optimus now produced on Fremont's high-volume lines, described in Tesla's update as its first production-quality bots. Press reports cite 22-DoF hands. Not yet sold externally.
